For over 30 years, we have participated in runner's injury research in association with the U.S. Department of Defense, National Institutes of Health, and Wake Forest University.

Wayne was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina, but has lived here in the Winston Salem area since 1985. He received his Masters in Sports Medicine from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his physical therapy degree from East Carolina University 1982. He has worked with several NFL teams as well as the Pan American Games. He had over six years experience working with the US Olympic Teams prior to being selected for the Sports Medicine staff for the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, Korea. He opened Wayne Cannon Physical Therapy & Associates in July 1990. He has extensive experience treating all orthopedic and sports-related pathologies, but is especially passionate about complex cases of the spine, pelvis, sacrum, and hip among other areas. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, playing with his two grandsons, and doing yardwork.

Hank was born and raised in Charleston, SC but also spent time living in Hampden-Sydney, VA; Bristol, VA; and Raleigh, NC while he was growing up. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill with his physical therapy degree in 1987. He treats all musculoskeletal diagnoses, but is most passionate about issues/pathologies in knees and shoulders. In his free time, Hank enjoys travelling with family and friends, watching ACC football and basketball, exercising, doing yardwork, and visiting Best Buy!

Lindsey was born and raised in the Winston Salem area. She graduated from the East Carolina University with her physical therapy degree in 2014. She enjoys treating a wide variety of diagnoses but is especially passionate about issues/pathologies in the spine, pelvis, sacrum, hip, and shoulder. In her spare time, she enjoys being active with her husband and two sons, going on adventures outside, and being involved in her church.

Bridget was born and mostly raised in Raleigh, NC but has lived in Winston Salem since 2002. She graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill with her physical therapy degree in 2000. She treats all musculoskeletal diagnoses and is passionate about helping her patients return to doing the activities that they love and ensuring that they have the tools necessary to stay healthy and pain-free. In her free time, Bridget enjoys spending time with her family, snow or water skiing, hiking, and watching her kids play soccer or dance.

Carrie was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC. She graduated in 2009 with her bachelor's degree in Health and Wellness from Gardner-Webb University, where she was a member of the women’s swim team. Carrie developed an interest for physical therapy after rehabilitating from two shoulder surgeries while in college. She graduated from Winston-Salem State University in 2012 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Carrie treats a variety of orthopedic conditions with a passion for ankle, knee, and shoulder pathologies; helping patients return to pain-free activity and sports. In her spare time, Carrie enjoys running and spending time with her husband and daughter.

McKinley earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018 and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Campbell University in 2021. In 2021, McKinley earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and in 2025, McKinley became a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
McKinley is excited to bring his training and expertise to the team at Wayne Cannon Physical Therapy and Associates. In the clinic, McKinley enjoys combining lessons learned from his DPT training and continuing education to provide targeted, specific care to his patients on the cusp of evidence-based medicine. McKinley has previous experience developing and teaching within a sports PT residency and has worked within a sports PT fellowship but enjoys treating whoever walks in the door – from chronic low back and shoulder pain to post-operative rehabilitation and return to sport. McKinley’s passions include the implementation of preventative medicine, leadership and education development, and researching ways to improve clinic cohesion, teamwork, efficiency, and reduce clinician burnout. Outside of the clinic, McKinley enjoys spending time outside with his incredible wife, son, and golden retriever, playing music, and reading.

Kit grew up in Wilson, North Carolina. She graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in Health and Sports Science. She has sports medicine experience working with recreational, high school, and collegiate athletes. She was also on the Sports Medicine staff for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. She treats patients with sports related diagnoses as well as being the Office Manager for the clinic. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children as well as being involved in her church, especially the youth ministry.

Delane has worked with Wayne Cannon Physical Therapy & Associates for 30+ years. She graduated with an Associated Applied Science degree as a Medical Secretary. She handles insurance and medical records for our office. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with my family. She is proud to be a member of this great team.

Donna was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Industrial Relations. She has worked at Wayne Cannon Physical Therapy for 16 years. She is married and has three children who always keep her busy.

Dana is originally from Indiana, but moved to North Carolina 25 years ago. In her spare time she enjoys spending time at the lake with her husband and two boys. She has been at Wayne Cannon Physical Therapy & Associates since January 2023 and has really enjoyed getting to know all of the wonderful staff and patients.


Ryan grew up in northern Virginia, but attended Wake Forest University, where he graduated with a degree in Health and Exercise Science in May 2025. He joined WCPTA in July and has enjoyed connecting with new patients. Ryan’s previous clinical experience includes working as a campus EMT and interning at Wake Forest’s Clinical Research Center. Ryan will be attending South University in Florida, where he will be studying to become an Anesthesiologist Assistant. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys watching college sports and playing soccer.
